Aeronautical Radio Navigation Service

A service providing aeronautical navigation guidance information or position data, intended for the benefit and safe operation of aircraft.

1. Appearance

  1. NAVAIDS is the name applied to the ground equipment and supporting facilities that provide electronic (radio and radar) assistance in the navigation of aircraft. Various types of electronic navigation aids are in use today, each serving a special purpose; en-route, terminal, and approach NAVAIDS.
  2. The term NAVAIDS denotes all of the various electronic components of equipment, housing and utilities, that provide positional information for directing or assisting the navigation of airborne aircraft. NAVAIDS can be found at airfields but others can be found at other locations along air routes.
  3. An Aeronautical Radio Navigation Service is described by its Navigation System Type (NST).

Aeronautical Radio Navigation Service (met NST=Radar Antenna)

Een Aeronautical Radio Navigation Service point heeft geen velden om DVOF informatie in te vullen. Toch is het object soms hoog genoeg om als verticale obstructie gezien te worden. Bij een TG wordt de vraag uitgezet of deze velden toegevoegd kunnen worden (28-2-2019).
